What Is SE?

The ARRTR offers medical imaging technologists an opportunity to earn an additional credential through a program called the postprimary pathway. Postprimary credentials include:

– Bone Densiometry

– Breast Sonography

– Cardiac Interventional Radiography

– Computed Tomography

– Mammography

– Magnetic Resonance Imaging

– Sonography

– Vascular Interventional Radiology

– Vascular Sonography

If you choose to pursue a credential through the postprimary pathway, you must meet three requirements:

– an Ethics Requirement

– an Education Requirement

– an Examination Requirement

As part of the Education Requirement, you must complete 16 hours of specialized education called Structured Education (SE). SE is designed to help you master the specific information you’ll need to earn your additional credential.

Most of our courses have been approved toward SE. With your eRADIMAGING subscription, you may take any combination of courses and apply the credits you’ve earned toward your biennial/triennial requirements and/or SE requirements. If you have already taken a course that has been approved for SE, you may apply it toward your postprimary SE Requirement if you have completed the course within 24 months of your scheduled examination.
